The staff were super helpful even as an English speaker. I sat at the front and the chef was very chatty and helpful with the whole experience. The food was to die for.

Fresh delicious sushi made in front of your widening eyes. Very friendly staff with engaging chefs. Sit at the counter if you can as you can watch your meal being prepared from scratch.

Loved the Chef's platter. The sushi was beautifully displayed. The tempura was delicious. Eat at the bar and get to know the chef while watching the fish in the background. Very attentive staff. They had an English menu as well.

Great, fresh sushi. Came here based on reviews from TripAdvisor and it was well worth it. Some of the best sushi we've had in Japan, really friendly staff, great service and good location for exploring Hiroshima. Would highly recommend for lunch or dinner - we went at 17:00 (when it opens) for an early dinner and by 17:30 it was full (mostly locals).

Perfect location, good value for money and in my understanding very authentic. I love the tuna sashimi, my wife the snow crab legs. Seems there’s many frequent customers coming to this place. The chefs are taking their business very serious, which I appreciate.

A tad pricey, but worth every Yen. Super-fresh fish and seafood expertly cut by your personal sushi-chef. Probably the best sushi we had in Japan. Service is very friendly, and there’s also an English menu.

Fresh sushi, big variety of fish and shellfish, crowded place with many tourists and locals alike.

Food is excellent and the fish tastes fresh, but I didn't appreciate the service. It was a monday but the place was crowded, and there was only one person handling everything but actually making the sushi. We had to wait 20ish minutes for her to make our table and felt everything was a little rushed.Nevertheless the food is great. Hopefully it won't happen to anyone else, because the food really is worth the money.

The sushi chef is amazing.. The food is incredible. The prices are very cheap and some of the best sushi I've had. Ask for chefs special recommendations and he will blow your mind. I highly recommend!

Sushi: good. Value: great! You can get an omakase nigiri set for 2700 yen / 13 pieces, and with good quality fish. Nigiri served on a banana leaf is different. Friendly sushi chef and lots of staff around, disproportionate almost a 1:1 ratio to patrons, perhaps it’s early in the night and they are expecting volume. English menu available.

Was extremely happy to find this restaurant. It's less than 5 min walk from Hiroshima station, fro. The Shinkensen entrance. The chef there was very friendly and made some amazing sushi. We just told him what fish we wanted and he made some amazing dishes. The best was the signature salmon. We found it to be an amazing experience and would def go again. I wouldn't call it cheap though, each sushi costs between Y350-450 each. (Which can add up cause it tastes amazing!)

Amazing sushi. Chikao (the chef) was very helpful, he spoke English enough for us to understand his clarifications and explanations of how to eat sushi properly, how long he's been doing this and which are his favorite sushi types and for him to understand our questions on everything sushi. The fish were fresh and tender, everything was clean and properly arranged. Definitely recommended!

Nice place to get your sushi fix.

Our hotel told us to go to Nonta (around the corner) OR Sushi Tei.. do yourself a favour and go straight to Sushi Tei.. Nonta is cheap and probably well liked by locals, but as a tourist and you're like me, you want some atmosphere, be close to the chefs (at a counter) and feel like they're taking care with your sushi, as opposed to banging them together..Well recommended.

Didn't have a good dining experience. Staff wasn't as welcoming. The sushi overall didn't taste as fresh as other sushi places in Hiroshima.

Great choice of sushis, rolls and sashimi for great value. We ordred enough to taste almost everything for a very affordable price. Staff is super friendly and asks what you prefer when there are variations.
